The UCR (Unified Carrier Registration) is the program that has replaced the SSRS (Single State Registration System) and is now in effect. Enforcement of this new program will begin November 15, 2007 with many states issuing a cutoff date of mid October for the submission of the applications. The UCR program requires all Motor Carriers; private, for-hire and exempt; Brokers, Freight Forwarders and Leasing Companies to register their operations. Intrastate only carriers are exempt from registration.
The fee structure has also changed for the UCR registration. The SSRS program required you to choose the states that you were running in and to pay the per state fees for every truck. The UCR program charges a yearly per company fee based on the number of trucks and trailers that you operate. The number of trucks and trailers that you need to register is based on either; 1) the number of trucks and trailers reported on the last MCS-150 form filed with the FMCSA, or 2) the number trucks and trailers operated during the preceeding 12 months ending June 30. You may deduct from this number the trucks and trailers that operated solely intrastate. There are six fee brackets that are based on the number of interstate trucks and trailers. Below are these brackets.

We will file your UCR registration and you will receive confirmation from your registration state. Unlike the SSRS, you will not need to carry proof of your registration in the truck.
The UCR registration is included in the Express, Total, Broker UCR and US DOT Number packages. If you already have your US DOT # and/or Operating Authority we can file just your UCR registration for you.
